Texas Tech Public Media is making a difference in the community by hosting a College Board Advanced Placement (AP) Summer Institute. This program is a game changer for school districts, as it provides local training for teachers leading AP courses that help students prepare for college. The Institute saves time and money for schools and teachers, and it allows students to save on tuition by earning college credit before graduating high school.

In 2023, the Texas Tech Public Media AP Summer Institute helped families save over $672,000 in college expenses while also helping West Texas students qualify for college credit on 838 AP Exams. In 2022, the AP Summer Institute saved families over $93,000 in college expenses. It also saved school districts over $45,000 in professional development expenses. Now THAT is something to celebrate!
